Hi,
I (foolishly) bought a 22mm fitting a bypass for 22 mm compression with realising I my pipe is 1/2". Finding a way to attach it is proving challenging. I cant find any brass fittings that would suffice. I would need a threaded 22mm to 1/2" compression. So I am thinking out an alternative. Would a 22 mm to 22 mm solder ring to 15 mm pipe and the copper pipe to another solder ring. It seems really complicated. I wonder, would anyone else have any better ideas? I might see if I can return the fitting and get a 3/4" one instead.

So you want to go from 22mm down to 15mm? 1/2" is imperial measurement, whereas modern pipes are metric, ergo 1/2" roughly equals 15mm but there is a slight difference.

Thanks. Yes but here in Ireland we still use 1/2.

So the 22mm end of the reducer does not go fully into the valve ,doesn't insert at all in fact ?
Is the valve made for 22mm pipe ,or 3/4 inch ?

It only sits inside it about 2mm. I am bewildered. The reducer seems to be a bit more than 23mm at one of the bands. It is a Myson Abv22 Straight Auto Bypass Valve. Labelled as 22mm online.

Much better with a three piece one than one piece. Something not right, they should fit any 22mm compression fitting.
