connecting a washing machine drain pipe to sink plumbing

I am trying to convert a stationary tub into a kitchen sink. How do I drain my washer using pipes instead of just flowing into the tub? I currently have a vent installed. I think I need a new trap but does it go above the sink trap or below or on the same line? How do I insure the washer H2O won't back up into my new kitchen sink or just plain old back up and make a mess?
