I need to replace one of my toilets (downstairs WC). Please see pic below.
I am fast realising a big challenge is my toilet is an older one (1998) where the soil pipe inlet is set further away from the wall (19.5 cm) compared to modern ones. The horizontal pan connector (17cm from wall) is adding to the complication as many modern toilets extend back, some near touching the back wall.
As stated; the problem is modern toilets tend to have a soil pipe outlet around 14cm from the back wall. Installing a modern toilet would cause the cistern to be a few centimetres separated from the wall, hardly aesthetically pleasing and a waste of space too.
Can anyone suggest a workable solution to this? Ideally, I would be able to connect a new toilet to the existing set up with the new cistern flush (no pun intended) against the back wall. Or would I need to adapt something in some way?
I also have a specific question. How far (in millimetres) does the soil pipe outlet from the back of a toilet penetrate into a (90 degree) pan connector?
