Connection to home wireless modem.

Help or advice please.

I have an Advent laptop, just been in to PC world Tech Guys for cooler fan repair.

Got it sent to workplace, fired up and connects to work wireless okay.
Took it home, and would not connect to home wireless, would not even find the home wireless to connect to ( located next doors okay but not mine).
I know the home wireless is working as another laptop connected okay.

Have tried contacting Tech Guys, but not getting much help.

Any ideas please?

What channel is your router set to ?
