i have a double socket under my hob which powers the freezer and until recently the hob ignition. I have bought a new hob and this says it needs wiring to a double pole switched fused spur outlet. can i just put a plug onto the ignition as long as the switch is double pole, or do i have to use a connection unit. If i DO have to do the latter, can i link a connection unit from the socket, as i only have one cable to service these two appliances.
guidance on how to remedy would be welcome.
Thanks

Are you saying that, when you remove the front plate of the socket, there is only one cable feeding that socket? If so, is the power to this socket isolated by a fuse/cb that controls a ring main or has it got its own fuse/cb? If so, what rating is the fuse/cb?
