Please can someone help, is it against regs to join a 2.5mm t&e together ie extending a cable using a 30amp connector block and wrapping it in insulating tape yes or no if so why are they manufactured. the cable would be in a roof space or under the floor THANK YOU

Connector blocks must be used inside an suitable enclosure and be located in an accessible place.
Wrapping them in a ball of tape and hiding them under the floor does not meet either of these requirements.
