Controversy regarding LGBT lessons in primary schools

I would have thought a 4 Year Old has more in their life to worry about than LGBT, missing a cartoon on CBBC for example !

That's one way of looking at it.

Let's suppose, for the sake of argument, that you are heterosexual.

When did you make that choice?

Was it because you thought it would be good for your career?

If nobody at school had told you it existed, what do you think you would have chosen instead?

These lessons are to inform the children that not all relationships are ‘mommy and daddy’ they are not teaching them the physical aspect of any relationships.
The situation in Birmingham has got out of hand, with daily protests, intimidation, the school closing early, death threats and court injunction.
You don’t choose to be gay, I didn’t.

And nothing wrong with that. My brother is gay and his partner is wonderful.

However he agrees with me that teachings of LGBTQ,+ should be kept to secondary schools when kids start exploring there own sexualities.

Kids of a young age as primary school really don't give a monkeys if they see 2 blokes or 2 women or 2 non binary or whatever tag people decide to be under these days.

My boy who is 4 knows that my brother and his partner are his uncles and he knows they are together.

I'm not entirely sure what benefit it gives LGBTQ community for children at this age to be confused. They should be left to be children.

One article I read the LGBTQ community doesn't like the idea of children saying they have 2 mummies or 2 daddies because that is to close to the heterosexual nuclear family. I can't see the problem with that train of thought and feel it's perfectly acceptable.

The problem with leaving such teaching to a later age is the giggling and/or embarrassment caused.
If children learn about discussing such issues at an early age, before it starts to loom large in their consciousness, they become more open to discussing it on a rational level, and it removes the giggling and embarrassment experienced at a later date.

Without resorting to the tired old jokes about sheep, let's talk about dolls and phallic toys instead. According to your argument, such people are naturally drawn to dolls and/or phallic toys in preference to genuine partners. Or those attracted to pornography make it their number one preference.
I think you'll agree that is nonsense. Sexual practices probably follow some kind of hierarchical preference. And in that hierarchical preference we're probably all different.

This I do see as rather rediculous, surely this degrades genuine women's rights?

I think trans women or men should have their own Olympics.
