Hi all

Have a flat roof on a double storey side extension that was done in the 70s that I want to change to pitched to match the original part of the house.

Question is the flat roof was done 7x2 / 8x2 joists spanning 10ft, and wondered if a new roof could be put on being attached to these without destroying ceiling/room below? Not sure if there's any wall plates

Thanks in advance

We once built a roof whereby the wall plate was positioned on TOP of the joists, so your suggestion may be feasible but largely dependant on what exists there already and what design constraints you need to work to.

Thanks for that noseall.

Had someone come and look at it today and they suggested exactly that.
