would my set up be referred to as semi gravity as heating is pumped and water is gravity and looking at my photos and trying to use my logic having 2 pipes either side of the boiler would that not be for flow and return seperately for heat and hot water do modern systems not have seperate flow and return for heat and hot water how else does the cooler water get back to the boiler to be reheated now being given three options y s or c plan knowing I really do need to replace the whole system but cant afford it will the extra work involved for a y plan be worth it to have better overall control of heating and hot water or or is c plan the best option knowing full replacement will eventually be done
These three diagrams show: your existing system, modified as a C Plan; S Plan; and Y Plan.
The S and Y plan diagrams shows a separate return from the cylinder but the normal way is to connect the cylinder return into the rad return, after all rads.
many thanks D_Hailsham you have been most helpful
so just to confirm c plan would be the simplest solution but for ultimate control y plan would be the best option what sort of labour time is involved in converting to y plan
