Cooker & Hob Question

Hello

I am new here and need some advise, I currently live in a council flat and in the process of doing the kitchen, I currently have 1 cooker point as there was a electic cooker, I plan to have a double oven and a hob which are both require hard wiring, whats the best solution?? i have 1 spare slot on breaker box.

The oven is de-dietrich fw2727u1 double oven
total load 5.58w

The hob is a creda solarspeed ceramic hob (about 3-4 years old) sorry don't know the total load as i am picking this up tomorrow (Fri) all the guy said is that's hard wired and need a 30-35 amp fuse.

I know when i last wired a cooker about 8 years ago i just ran a new ring with a 40amp breaker but what's the current law on this as i don't want to land in trouble with council.

The law says that work like that has to be notified to Building Control in advance.

But as well as the law to consider, what does your landlord permit you to do in the flat?

I phoned my local council this morning to ask what the rules are and what to do. I was shocked by his reply he said if you can do it then do it, I ask what about paperwork and that not to worry he said, So i left it a hour and rang back asked some else and he said get a electrician and pay him to do the work which is fair enough i also asked him about paperwork he said there not interested, So after that i am thinking sod it i will do it myself and have done with.

Indeed, but what would happen to the OP’s letter?

BCO Senior “No time for that, we’re not electricians for Chissake!”
BCO Junior “What shall I do with the letter?”
BCO Senior “Throw it in the bin”
BCO Junior “OK, shall we go out and persecute some builders?”
BCO Senior “Sounds good, you’re driving!”

I would guess the OP’s project is now up and running, done and dusted.
