Hey!

I'm looking for a new motor for my 110cm stoves cooker hood (444445522) because it rumbles like mad on speeds 2 and 3. it's seems quite old and full of grease.

But I'm struggling to find anywhere that sells one - I have found one or two for ~£250 - which is dearer than some full new units.

So - is it possible to replace a stoves motor with another manufacturers motor, or should I bite the dust and replace the whole thing?

The rumbling could be caused by the bearings on there way out on the motor or due to build up of grease etc causing imbalance whilst rotating.

Best to gain access to the motor and find a part number, usually more successful and cheaper finding a part by part no. rather than by manufacture make and model.

Cleaning and oiling might even solve the issue!

Could you get yours rebuilt? Maybe even by a stater motor/alternator specialist.

I think you will be surprised the difference a good clean of the motor & impeller & air grills will make.
