cooker ring

What is the purpose of the halogen ring on my cooker,the other three normal type rings do the job and Icannot see the point of the halogen ring.

have you used it? i think the idea is it heats up and cools down quicker, more like cooking on gas. i've never used one myself, but i am not convinced by the claims that its just like a gas ring.

the other 3 rings will take more time to heat up and cool down, being standard electric rings.
 
Crafty Hit the nail on the head, the idea of Halogen was 'gas controllability'
