Copper waste pipes.....

i am currently refitting both the bathroom and kitchen. This job involves some rejigging of the waste pipes. At present all the wastes which feed into the soil pipe are copper.

Can modern plastic waste pipe be bonded to the using the same cement as used for bonding plastic components to each other? If so will this form a reliable bond in external environment? If not what can I use to bond the two?

No you cannot bond the 2 materials.

You can however buy O ring fitting for copper (red O ring) or compression fittings.

Check the size as it could be imperial
