Depending on the blockwork, it may not take too long to go through the inner skin. Then just take it steady through the outer skin.
You don't really want to stitch drill on this occasion 'cos you'll need a decent inner core hole to guide the core drill through the outer skin.
Be prepared to clear the hole of dust regularly.
