The National Association of Professional Inspectors & Testers (NAPIT) has filed an application with the HSE to operate a Gas Safety Scheme as an alternative to CORGI. :shock: :P

please vote for The Gas Industry does not need any registration body

Definitely need SOMEONE to regulate gas industry, just think it`s about time that Corgi were given a bloody nose for being so greedy, & having to inform them every time you fart!!

I think CORGI are well run and offer gas operatives good advice.

However, they are not meant to make a profit, so i do not understand the cost of stationery. We can get CP12s custom printed in colour for a fraction of the price CORGI offer non-personalised ones.

This goes for many other forms they publish. Clearly the provision of gas safety materials has turned into a profit centre, and this is at our cost.

Perhaps CORGI would argue that it is cross subsidisation. Are there any ways we can find out how the public money is being spent in this organisation?

What do you mean "they're not meant to make a profit"?

private company innit

And whose money was used to set them up and buy those nice headquarters in Basingstoke?

I think you'll find the taxpayer bought it all......

Scottish parliment have raised question about Corgi`s monoploly and fact it is making a fortune out of appliance notification and have thrown out Corgi`s request to make this law in Scotland like it is in England.

Only one problem with your statement namsag;

It ain't law in England either :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:

Corgy made it a condition of regisration to by-pass the law.

By applying to be Corgy registered you agree to GWN, if you read the small print.

I would be more encouraged by the NAPIT attempt to offer an alternative registration body...

BUT

NAPIT is being advised on this by TWO ex-CORGI managers!

One assumes the leopards are not changing their spots and NAPIT see PROFIT as their motive in this exercise!

If they succeed in having TWO registration bodies it will be like the RAC and the AA both providing the same service for about the same price and BOTH operating FOR PROFIT !!!
