I've an oven which has max load 15.7A. I have this connected on 6mm cable which has a 32A fuse in the fusebox. There's a 40A switch in between. What should the fuse rating in the fusaebox be? Is that fuse to protect the appliance or the cabling? Thanks

It protects both. If the only appliance is the oven you speak of, the fuse should only be 20A. It theres a plug in the switch, use a 32A fuse.
