Correct pipework for shower mixer?

Hi, I wondered if anyone could provide some guidance please.
I am renovating our main bathroom and I am looking to add a mixer bar shower over the bath. A plumber has indicated taking the feeds from the bath taps would be fine, it's on a combi boiler and pressure is good.
What would be the correct or best way to to do this?
Compression T piece into plastic pipe up to shower height then copper pipe to attach shower?
Or should be soldered copper pipe all the way up?

Copper is proper and if you can solder then fire away.

If you can't then it could be push fit but still use copper - so yes, tee off the supplies then an elbow up to the shower height, another elbow and copper tails through for the shower.

Thank you, I figured copper was the correct way to do it, I have never soldered pipe work before (electrical items yes) and the thought of making a mistake and sealing it in with tiles concerns me.

I would also have concerns with push fit being installed by myself and sealed in, looks like I will have to continue to wait for the plumber to come back.

It doesn't help that some idiot (me) has built a niche exactly where the copper pipe would be able to go straight up to the shower mixer.
