Cost of a cavity block wall - crazy price?

I've done a few searches and can't find a recent answer.

To demolish and remove an existing 7.5m by 2.5m cavity wall down to DPC and then rebuild it with 50mm insulation I've been quoted over £5500 plus VAT.

Even with the cost of wall ties, new DPC and also having to tie it into the existing wall, this seems like a crazy price. This does not include rendering.

Does this sound too high and if so what would be a rough ball-park figure?

There must be some other factors here that we don't know about. Surely a gang of brickies wouldn't be that far out, even with a nice profit??
