I know it's difficult to say without seeing it but can anyone please give a ballpark for the following:

Remove old bath and cap off taps.

Install a shower tray the full width / length of where the bath was.
Install a shower screen about half the width to allow an elderly person to simply walk around the scree into the shower.
Re tile the area where the bath has now gone

Note - electric shower is already present and in the right place.

Have had a quote for £4700 which seems very very high.....

In this case that is very relevant. There is no information about drainage, the routes of the pipework that exists, the type of floor, the extent of the tiling that would be required etc.

You should instead get at least three quotes in total and take it from there.

Even without seeing the job, £4700 is to much money.

Get 3 quotes from builders/plumbers and not these companies that advertise walk in showers for the older generation.
