Hi,

Currently he have some building contractors on site at my place of work. I am in the odd sitation that the building contractors want to sub contract me to finish off the data cabling job as their electrician cant do / wont do.

Since I have never been self employed or been subcontracted for this type of work I am at a loss for what to charge them.

Work I have to do,

Erect two network cabinets
Terminate 90 CAT5e cables into each of them (the socket ends are already done)

Patch in the switches.

I've emailed a few companies for quotes, which I feel a bit bad about but no-one has come back to me as yet.

Matt

How long do you reckon YOU could do it? It isn't too much work.

Who is going to test the points? You with a dodgy pin-out tester, or someone who will use a bandwidth tester and log results?

For doing the cabs and patches, allow say three days? That would cover you I would think for sure. Set your daily rate at what you are comfortable with.

I reckon three days is a safe bet, i'll be using my test-um validator to test the points after install.

In short, i have no idea what i'm comfortable working for per day, i know i'm not comfortable on what i earn in my job!
