As part of a 1917 house renovation I'm considering moving two upstairs windows in a solid wall. The Windows in question are really nice 2009-vintage sash replacements. One is moving about 18 inches to centralise it in the front elevation. The other is being moved about four feet to make space for a new chimney to be built

The house is going to be insulated and re-rendered outside and replastered inside, so redecoration is not an issue.

Can someone give me an idea of how much I should budget for each?

    Regards

Too many unknown variables to come up with any kind of "idea" price.

Throwing out wild guesses, often based on inexperience, is foolish.

    Brickwork might be needed.
New lintels and sills might be needed. Old lintels and sills removing.
Outside work will need a tower, is there private access for a single tower - would bridging be required.
Are in-situ frames actually lintelling any brickwork above the frame?

Worst case circumstances could work out at much more than £6oo per frame.

    Thank you for both replies.

    £600 sounds sensible.

For the record, no access issues and, as I indicated, there is much more external work being done, so timing is mobile

Is there any reason why this job cannot be done from inside?

    Regards

Yeah the outer skin alteration and lintel isn’t really doable from inside
