So what is it with all of these claims for compensation from these passengers? Other than loss for personal effects, what possible reason is there to try and fleece the company?

Wish I'd been on that cruise and lived to tell the tale. (although I doubt I'd take up Costa's offer of a free cruise)

Latest offer seems to be a refund plus £9K. Bear in mind that (presumably) these passengers had holiday insurance anyway, which would have covered loss of property.

If thats the offer you can be sure they would get far more with a good brief.

Moral is don`t have a Captain go off course trying to impress a bird for a leg over.
He was just doing a handbrake turn, that's all - jeepers guys, you are soooooooooooo cynical 8)

Why? If you have been scarred mentally from the event and cannot work, surely you would be able to argue your case. I personally think, you cant diffenticiate without being put in that horrible position.

There was a story somewhere about some of the crew doing all right out of it. Wads of cash stuffed in their pockets by rich russians for first dibs on the life boats allegedly.

What, all 4000 of them? :?

Does this include the same crew members who ignored their job description involving "passenger safety" and shoved past their paying employers (the women, children and other passengers) while they save their own cowardly backsides?
