Hi everyone,

Bit of a strange question. My boiler currently is in an upstairs bedroom and I am in the process of getting relocated downstairs in the utility room so this will then make the old flue pipe/vent currently going through the attic and out through the roof redundant.

At the moment the bathroom is getting gutted and currently has no extractor fan, so electrician is installing an inline one via the attic and then vented through the roof. This will not be done by him so would need a roofer in for this as heights is not my thing.

So the question is can i use the old flue pipe to vent out the new inline vent? It's about 1.5m away from where the fan will sit in the attic.

As this will save me getting in a roofer to remove the old flue and install new tiles and then install a tile vent for the bathroom fan.

Thanks

Yes, it is only an opening to outside, if you can connect to it with a suitable fan and ducting then happy days.
