Covering wall imperfections

Hi, I’ve stripped paper off walls. The plaster is in good condition but there are imperfections so I can’t really paint them yet. The attached photo kind of shows the problem, ridges are maybe half a mm deep.

I wondered if anyone knows a product I can use that doesn’t involved getting the walls skimmed or papered.

I’ve read poor reviews on this site about Polycell Basecoat. Is there anything similar that anyone knows of anything that does work?

You haven’t finished.
if you have a decent sander and vacuum you could sand the wall?
I have done it and with a vacuum it isn’t too bad.
don’t try it without
