I've put up polystyrene coated coving and used cheap no more nails to put it up and decorators filler to fill the gaps, both 151 brands from the pound shop. Once I've finished the filling and painted it after it ends up cracking no matter how many times I refill it, is there a better filler I should be using as its doing my head in now?!

Polystyrene coving = trash.
Get some proper plaster coving. Cheaper and better in every way.

If you buy things in a pound shop, you get exactly what you pay for.

Thanks for that advice, really useful, I now know that plaster coving is cheaper than polystyrene(?!) which was exactly what I asked.

What he really meant is that poystyrene coving expands at a different rate to the plaster walls when the room temperature changes so it will allways show cracks.

You get a much better and longer lasting job by investing a little more in plaster coving.

Not so much of a risk in a fire either.
