I am installing a new internal wall in an existing living room to create a new smaller room. The existing living room has ceiling coving all around the perimeter. I want to have coving on the new internal wall so everything matches. How will I join the new coving piece on the internal wall to the existing coving that is around the existing room where the new wall meets the existing wall at a 90 deg angle. Thanks.

Cut the existing coving back neatly where the new wall meets it with a fine-tooth saw, then fit new lengths with an internal mitre into that corner. A coving mitre box makes the 45° cuts much easier. Stick it up with coving adhesive, wipe off the squeeze-out with a damp brush, then fill the joints and sand once it's dry. A dab of decorator's caulk on the top and bottom edges hides any small gaps before painting.
