Hired a roofer to install lead flashing on my roof due to water ingress on a party wall

Following the install water ingress is still coming in

Roofer said that his work comes with '10 year guarantee', however when I contacted him a few days later to say that water was still making its way into the property, he has ignored my phone calls and all contact

He has been paid 2/3's for the job.

In this instance, what would be the best course of action?

His work was fully guaranteed until the cheque cleared

If this relates to that other thread and the parapet wall, no-one in their right mind would guarantee any work to that other than a complete rebuild.

The only guarantee that is worth anything is one that is underwritten by a bone-fide insurance company.

Consider it as a saving of 1/3 the money you would have otherwise lost.

Question comes naturally:
Are you sure it was the flashing that needed redoing?
Difficult for even diyers to mess it up, let alone someone who has done it a couple of times.
Maybe water is coming in from somewhere else.
Is this a case of you called a roofer and asked to replace the flashing or he came and made the diagnosis that the water was coming from there?
On many occasions I was asked by landlords to do totally unnecessary things and by asking questions I found that they had self assumed that something was wrong when it wasn't.
I could have simply done what they asked.
The classic was door hinges.
They asked for new hinges for wobbly doors when in fact they just needed to tighten the screws or replace them.
Who made the decision that water was coming in from the flashing?
