Hi All,

Moved into a new house. Got a CP8L alarm with the PR5208 keypad.

Alarm battery went dead so whole system died.

I have replace the fuse spur just outside of the panel with a new fuse, and I have also replaced the battery inside of the main panel, like for like. Alarm keypad now works and powers up as expected, and alarm code work and can set etc. All wires are live, so the new fuse/battery etc has worked not like sitting on a dead wire.

However, the alarm keypad now always says 'Check!! Mains Flt' - I've noticed a lot of time, just replacing the battery fixed this but not in my case I have tried inserting the number twice and pressing reset etc as I've seen posted a few times but still no good. Is there anything additional inside the panel that may need changing? Bit stumped now after my trouble shooting

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dash

Have you checked mains fuse inside control panel on the terminal block ?
Be careful when testing 230 volts, you should have competent in what you are testing.
Have you a multimeter?
What is the voltage on the two orange wires on top corner of pcb that come from the mains transformer.

I'm assuming that fuse is behind the white box in the middle left? I haven't looked or tested anything in there as I can't get that white box off without taking it off the wall it seems.

No it's the terminal block at the bottom that the main cable goes into.pull fuse holder out and test fuse is not blown.
Test orange wire for power out.

Have you done full set of alarm and then unset.
Does it say mains fault whilst setting.
You need to confirm if 230v is going into panel via fused terminal block and voltage out on orange wires , should be about 18/20volts A/C on orange wires.

Yeah I have got the fuse out, and its deffo blown. So currently trying to find which fuse to re-buy to replace it with. I can make out the following (horrible to read) 250VP LFT125mAL. So I believe its this. Would you agree?
