I have a cracked plasterboard joint at the bottom corner of a window in a timber-framed house. (My understanding is that you should avoid putting joints at window/door frames for this reason.) Some evenings I can hear the house settle in this spot. Can this be successfully patched? I tried a thin layer of multipurpose filler, but of course the crack quickly came back.
