crack in plastic oil tank

Hello all...

Have you seen this:

Like many others, I have a Titan (Kingspan) tank with cracking at the ribs. I've provided lateral support on both sides and am about to apply fibreglass mat bonded with special plastic resin - 'Plast-Aid'. I hope to get a few more years out of it.

Has anyone else tried this? Any other tips?

A steel tank next time, I think!

Cheers!

Old thread I know but purely by accident I found a method of stopping a small crack in a plastic oil tank leaking , size wise a thin electrical screw driver blade in width . Use baby wipes , non bio degradeable type , insert in to crack push in firmly , with again thin screw driver , run it along the crack seam so to speak and it works . Done it twice , worked both times and it lasted eighteen months and was then replaced . Obviously changing the tank will eventually be necessary , but it gives you breathing space .
