Cracked door mirror,mot failure?

as above really, the car has to go for an mot, I've checked everything works ok, just the passenger door mirror is cracked, will it fail?

If it is "insecure" it will fail, or if it is "obscured, damaged or deteriorated so that the view to the rear is seriously impaired" then it will fail too.

Depends on how bad it's damaged really and on the testers' interpretation of "seriously impaired".

You'll get an advisory on that one, so long as there are no shards of glass projecting.
A motor factor can probably sort you out with a stick on replacement though.

I would say that it should not be failed but will depend on the attitude of the of the tester on the day.

Those stick on glasses are OK as a stop gap but never look very nice on a smart car.

Buy a stick on replacement, then you can see whats behind you, they don't cost a fortune.
 
Mine has been cracked for 5 years always been an advisory,, classed as slightly impaired.
