Cracked Mortar Above Window

Hi All,

We moved into our first house 2 years ago, and I've only just noticed these cracks in the mortar above our lower-floor window. They might have been there all along, but nothing was flagged on the homebuyers report when buying the property.

I was just wondering if this was a sign of something serious/what the best course of action is. I've been so worried after reading about stepped cracks!

There are no internal cracks and no other signs of subsidence, so thought I would reach out to this great community.

Looks like a weak spot above the window has allowed a little ex-con movement. Not the best masonry set-up considering the stone façade and the lack of joint bonding.

Do you think having a word with builders to repoint/rectify the issue would be the best course of action?

It can be countered with brick tor built into the beds, but the best you can hope for is a pointless re-point.
