Hi,

My Titan lp1200 tank has developed cracks along the mid-line, I phoned kingspan who manufacture the tanks, and the tank is still under warranty.

After a few days they have offered to supply a new tank free of charge, but they say that I will have to get it installed at my own cost, they sent out a letter for me to sign stating that if I accepted this offer then that would be the issue closed.

Should they be paying for the installation as the rest of the system and pipework is fine, its just their faulty tank that has caused a problem, and me left with the bill.

Thanks

How old is the tank??
I would be pushing for a much better offer, as far as I am aware TITAN, arrange the labour for the exchange as well
be aware that if you make no contribution to the cost, the warranty on the new tank will expire at the same time as the existing warranty so if tank is say 4 years old, it may be worth paying a contribution to enable you to negotiate an extended warranty ;)

Well here's the thing, the tank is 9 years old, but it came with a 10 year warranty.

I know its towards the end of the warranty period but is this not the reason a warranty is offered by a manufacturer in the first place?

I feel that there hoping I take the first offer and run.
