Hi there

I live in a ground floor apartment. Upstairs is getting a compete refurbishment and I’ve noticed large cracks appearing on my walls near ceiling and in corners (see images). What is happening here?

Thanks
Claire

Banging and what not tends to flex the floor and crack the finishes. Normally not asignificant structural issue.

Keep your eye on the cracks for any progression (mark a pencil line). Tell the people upstairs in case it gets worse, and if not in the UK check locally for what laws and regulations apply for making this good - in the UK the person causing the damage would be responsible for the cost of repairs
