Please could someone advise on what to do.

The flooring on the 1st floor, bedrooms, bathroom have started to creak on EVERY foot step that we take. It has got worse this last few months especially.

The house is two years old, do we get the people who built the houses back ? Or is there a quick fix that can be done.

Regards

Lee

Need a bit more info:
solid (pine) floorboards?
do you know how the boards are installed (directly onto joists, floating on concrete, glued down?)
Did you recently had a leak in bathroom?
Are the floors installed from one room to the other without using thresholds?

You probably have green grade chipboard flooring 18 or 22mm. I had exactly the same problem. Turned out to be the nails lifting slightly and allowing movement. Basically, I doubled up next to the nails using screws. This solved the problem for me. Allowed me to tile over without movement.

screws will restict normal movement (wood works, remember;)) during the seasons and in very dry circumstances (like now, air humidity as low as 35%) you floorboards could crack.
