Hello, I want to pour a path and have previously used 12mm ply with timber steaks used every 30cm.

Due to cost I want to know if anyone has used a cheaper material like OSB?

Love to hear

Well at least your timber steaks were cheaper than fillet steaks

Anything will do as long as its stiff enough. If its only for a path i'm assuming its 100mm and its not like your going to be putting a vibrating poker in it.

12mm is fine as long as you stake it well.

Longer lengths are easier obviously as they need less staking and lining up.

3 x 4.8m lengths of 4x1'' timber will be similar price to a board of osb? and easier to work with as its one single piece.

of course if its a large area then one sheet could be ripped into 12 100mm x 2.4m lengths

OSB will give a rough finish to the side of the path but that doesn't matter if your margin trowelling it, which you should do!!
