Hi all,
Over the past year ive got into mining crypto. Ive had a 10mm cable run from a 40amp fuse to my workshop about 15m away from the main board. The cable is run along the wall, not in insulation/trunking etc.
I believe i am pulling close to 40 amps now, but the cable and fuse are hot. With my IR thermometer the 40amp fuse reads at 59 degrees and the cable at 37. My electrician has been out again and says its fine, the fuse will trip if it gets much warmer though, but thats the point to protect the circuit etc. It just im pulling so much power.
Does this sound ok to other electricians or would anyone have any other recommendations?
Thanks.
