Quick question guys, is there a certain distance there should be between a boiler and cu that are in the same cupboard (quite a large cupboard)?

There is no distance only a requirement for it to be in a suitable environment so if the boiler could likely leak onto the consumer unit or over heat the consumer unit then it would not be allowed.

It comes under 528.3 Proximity to non-electrical services and should it be likely that gas could leak there would also be a problem.

As we get into caravans etc. There are rules prohibiting mixture of gas and electric and I would say some common sense is required as to the likely hood of the enclosure holding any gas leak and building up to an explosive level and any MCB tripping igniting the gas.

However with electric central heating this would not be a problem and you don't say what type of boiler it is.

Ok cheers. Should be ok then. CU is close to boiler, same cupboard (maybe 1metre away). Personally I wouldn't have had it so close but I didn't wire the house and am just finishing it off to help somebody out.
