CU Location

what are the current regs regarding location of CU.

Just got house and CU is about 2m above ground in the porch. Is this ok as it will be replaced soon and wanted to know if it needs moving.

I don't think there are any regulations per se but I believe standard procedure on new builds is to place the CU in a readily accessible location above the flood level. Reasonable provision must be made to stop children interfering with it and the top of the CU must be to IPX4 (which is mandatory, new build or not).

what do u mean IPX4?

yeah its well out of the way and when its done, nothing will be able to get in cable entry holes
