Hi guys,

Firstly, having been a member here for a long time I do know all about part P but to put it frankly, I don't care! (It's completely unworkable anyway)

What I do care about is running this plan past you first to make sure it's safe.

I have double cupboards either side of the hob and would like to put downlighters in each of them. Both cupboards have a double socket directly underneath them, both on the ring with no existing spurs.

Sorry for cameraphone pic, digital camera still out of action.

My plan is this, on each side:

I have two questions:

1. Anything wrong with my suggestion?

2. Look at the photo and the position of the kettle in particular - what IP rating should I get for the lights in that circumstance?

except the old "electrical fittings and outlets in cupboards" debate. But thats what i would do, to be honest!!
