As title says really, what do you find yourselves doing more off, varnishing or painting skirting and facings these days.

Paint is more popular these days. Pine looks pretty naff. It'll come back in one day but not at the moment.
 
That's what I was hoping to hear, must convince the other half now who seems to be digging her heels in regarding a varnished finish :roll:
