CUT ALARM WIRE

Plugwash, fraid not.

bt started using the krone method donkeys years ago, all bt junction boxes , big green cabinets have solid drawn cable, there must be millions to one for a ration of solid to multi standed connections.

they did used to use screw terminals, but too many wires broke, thats why they went to krone

standard 4 core alarm cable

red yellow blue black

6 core

red yellow blue black green white

so the yellow cant be white

I have a couple of phone sockets at home wired in alarm cable.

Been like it for years.

All IDC connections, and no problems at all.

krone tool

the grey bit pushes the wire into the connector (vaguely like a letter u) and the black bit snips off the surplus.

all done in one easy push

you have no need to strip the wirs as the sides of the letter u cut through the insulation

Maybe this isn't standard, some has 4 or 6 of the same colour. Confuses the burglar with a tool box.

As long as the original poster connects like to like that is all that matters.
