Does anyone have a good tip for cutting a ceiling joist which is holding my flat roof up (I'm fitting a new roof window).

My options are; turning the saw upside down - not sure that will be too accurate or using a jigsaw, but they tend to wonder.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Many thanks.
