    Hi,

We have a new Mira Agile ERD mixer shower, this one:

However, we are intalling it over a Bath and we have a very large bath, with significant sloped sides.

The overtop deluge head only sticks out from the wall by 520mm total or 420mm to the centre of the head and this won't quite clear the sloped sides of the bath.

I have a bit of a DIY plan, of cutting (shock i know) the chrome horizontal pipe of the deluge head and extending by 200mm with additonal chrome pipework and chrome soldered connectors.

Should this be fine? Or am i missing anything?

I will probably also install an additional ceiling mounted chrome pipe bracket for the deluge head.

    Cheers

Don't make the assumption that the pipe will be a standard size, I very much doubt you will find solder fittings to fit again assuming its a metal you can solder to, measure the pipe and see if you can get chrome compression coupling to fit.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I will measure myself, but also ask the manufacturer for measurements.

Yeah a chrome compression fit or push fit may indeed be easier.

I know this will probably void the Mira warranty also!!

    Thanks

Thats not an agile shower (unless they have changed design in the last 2 months) the mira agile shower is an excellent product. Ask mira re extending the horizontal arm, they may have a kit.

Your shower picture with dual water flow looks like the Atom product,so much water issuing during dual flow

Mira have already replied, saying that the pipe is 19mm in diamter!

Maybe if it's more like 19/20mm, could use 22mm chrome pipe and 22mm chrome couplers with A LOT of PTFE tape on one side of each coupler??

OR 20mm stainless steel pipe and 20mm MDPE white compression couplers. Which won't look great.

OR 20mm stainless stell pipe and 20mm brass soldered couplers.

Even if compression/solder fittings were available,it has to be remembered the riser vertical & horizontal pipes are extra thin wall preformed decorative pipe.

Assuming your rainfall head has a 1/2 inch thread,Have in the past changed the rainfall type shower head to a 'rada ball swivel shower head',which can be angled towards the shower user. It was a temporary solution, the customer was going to get a proper shower bath and then refit the rainfall head. That was 9 years ago.

There are other bodge ideas to extend the rainfall head arm, with 15mm chrome pipe.

You'd be better of with a digital shower with a ceiling mounted rainhead.
