Hello All,

I have a 3 meter length of engineered beech worktop that is 4 cm thick and roughly 10 cm tall. I'd like to cut it through it's thickness to give two pieces of equal thickness.
Then I'd need to ensure that the pieces are square, and the same size.
I plan to use the pieces as upstands on the worktops that they were taken from.
Would you advise how this could be done?

Many Thanks.
David

To get a good job you need a table saw.
Your local timber mercant might do it for tea money

OK, That sounds straightforward. I took it to B&Q after the kitchen fitters recommended that I ask them to cut it on their wall-saw. They weren't allowed to cut anything that isn't at least 27cm wide, and couldn't have cut this even if they were allowed to.
Anyone know a timber merchant in Edinburgh that would do this?

Thanks again.
David.

b+ q staff, more than there life is worth to do that.
Try looking yellow pages etc, for carpenter, they will have a table saw.
You could hire 1 for a day.
