hi i am planning on cutting a 40 mm hole in a cast iron soil pipe with a hole saw and drill bits and we are debating about lubrication the mrs thinks we don't any due to graphite in the pipe or something so it's self lubricating and i am thinking that a bit of wd40 will do the job nicely, please advise?!
thanks Dan

slowly, with lots of engine oil on the cutter or you'll kill it!

Cast iron drilling does not require any lubrication, I know because I've drilled many many holes in cast iron.

When I was an apprentice, I was told it was water to lubricate.
