I need to cut some profiles out of a sheet of wood. I have a template but I'm not sure what tool I should use. I've used a jigsaw before but have been reading a bit about routers. Are routers used for cutting or should I stick with my jigsaw? The shape I'm cutting is curved too making it tricky. Has anyone got any advice or tips for me?

A bearing guided flush cutting bit or template bit in the router will give an exact copy of your template very quickly and easily.(internal corners will have a slight radius)

Draw round the template then cut away the waste with the jigsaw leaving about 3mm all round then route. If the board is 6mm or less in thickness you can just use the router to cut straight through.
