Hi,

I have been given a timber door, and I would like to fit as a new back door.

The door is two glass panels on top, and two timber below. The door is 32in wide, where by exiting door is only 30in. Is it Ok to remove 1in from each side?

Anything else to look out for?

It depends how it’s constructed & as it has panels, it might look odd; is it really worth the effort!

If you’re not replacing the frame you don’t need to be concerned about compliance & registration but to comply with current regulations, any glass fitted in or at certain locations adjacent to doors must be toughened safety glass.
