Hello, I have had a Mira engineer out today to replace the cartridge to the existing shower but unfortunately he was unable to remove the cartridge as the tilers had not left a large enough hole around the existing shower cartridge to enable removal. Can you advise me how to trim away the edges of the tiles without damaging them.

Using a tile scriber, scribe the boundary of the area that you want to remove.

Then, if there's room, use tile nibblers to nibble away up to that line.

If there's no room for nibblers, then chip away, a little bit at a time, using a small cold chisel and light hammer.

Keep the hammer and chisel away from the tiles. You can get a dremel for little money and a tile cutting bit for one is around a fiver on ebay. You can now cut away the bit you need easily and without risking damage to the tiles.
