My daughter's car's battery light is now staying on when the engine is running. This started when the car went over a bump. Unfortunately I am in Devon and the rest of my family are having a few days break in the Isle of white. I have been told that it is driving OK. Could it be the alternator moved slightly thereby not charging properly? Any ideas pleaser

I would hope the alternator hasn't moved - it ought to be properly secured - but that or the belt are the obvious choices.

Yes as above, check the drive belt to the alternator and the wires on the back for loose connections.
